Five33 Lounge

Why Five33? The history of Goat Island runs deep, from being named for grazing goats to pirate hangings and burials plus the creation of the Naval Torpedo Station. Yes, Goat Island was the site of one of the original torpedo factories, serving in that capacity from 1869 until 1951. Self-propelled vehicles designed to carry the charge to the designated enemy were developed on Goat Island which included the most widely utilized torpedo of allied forces during WWII. These torpedoes measured 533 millimeters in diameter, which is just over 20 inches - the size of the stainless tubes featured in our lounge. This inspired our decision to honor the Goat Island role in history. Relax and take in the view of the beautiful Narragansett Bay while enjoying another great day in Newport. You will love our seasonal outdoor deck.

Gather with friends in Five33 lounge where you can cozy up to the fireplace with your favorite libation before moving in to the Windward to be pampered by our team serving traditional New England dishes complemented by Mediterranean inspired cuisine.
